SINGAPORE, July 5 -- Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said the People's Action Party (PAP) is looking to bring in Singaporeans with a wider range of views and experiences, stressing that the party does not expect everyone to think alike as it renews its ranks.

As reported by The Straits Times, speaking at the Young PAP's 40th anniversary conference yesterday, he told more than 1,200 activists that diversity of thought is necessary for the party to stay relevant and govern effectively. He said young Singaporeans should "widen the circle" and not feel they must agree with the PAP on every issue before stepping forward to contribute.
