SINGAPORE, Sept. 29 -- A 24-year-old Muay Thai fighter has died after he was taken to hospital unconscious following a tournament at the National Stadium earlier this month, with police saying preliminary investigations found no suspected foul play.

The police confirmed the death on Monday, CNA reported, but did not disclose the fighter's identity or when he died.

A police report was made at about 8am on September 13, a day after the man competed in the AMC 13 Fight for Hope tournament and was subsequently taken to hospital.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it received a call for assistance at 1 Stadium Drive at about 7.05pm on September 12, with one person conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
