SINGAPORE, Aug. 10 -- Singapore MP Tan Kiat How had an especially memorable National Day after his wife's water broke during the parade - before their third child arrived the following morning.

The East Coast GRC MP announced on Facebook today that baby Micah had been born that morning, describing the new arrival as the family's "best National Day gift".

"Yesterday's National Day Parade was exciting in more ways than I had expected," Tan wrote.

"Towards the end of the show, my wife's water started leaking."

The couple still had enough time for their two older children, Isaac and Ayla, to stay until the end of the celebrations, including the fireworks and pledge.
