SINGAPORE, May 19 -- A 31-year-old Singaporean man has been sentenced to one year and nine months in jail and two lashes of the cane after he was caught with a collection of 79 sexually explicit videos involving 87 identifiable children.

Emerson Poh Jun Wei pleaded guilty on May 18 to one count of possessing child sexual abuse material. At the time of the offence, he was employed as an operations assistant, The Straits Times reported.

The materials, which included a video of a boy who appeared to be only two years old, were discovered during a police raid on his home on September 7, 2023. The 79 videos were found stored across his laptop, desktop computer, and mobile phone.
