Kuala Lampur, July 17 -- SINGAPORE, July 17 - Singapore has cancelled the work permits of two Bangladeshi workers and repatriated them after investigations by the Internal Security Department (ISD) found they had made extremist postings on social media.

The Straits Times reported that Tayani Md Risad, 25, and Islam Sahedul, 37, were separately investigated in July over their online activities before being sent back to Bangladesh.

An ISD spokeswoman said Risad had expressed support for Bangladeshi radical Islamist writer Shafiur Rahman Farabi, who has incited violence against secular and atheist bloggers.

Farabi is also allegedly linked to Hizb ut-Tahrir, a fundamentalist Islamist group banned in Bangladesh.
