SINGAPORE, Aug. 31 -- A repeat offender has been jailed for nine months and 22 weeks after assaulting a colleague during an altercation at a Coleman Street nightspot in Singapore, leaving the victim with a traumatic brain injury.

The Straits Times reported that Muhammad Adli Amran, 31, was also fined S$1,200 (RM3,808) after pleading guilty to one count each of assault and an offence under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act.

The assault marked Adli's fourth violence-related conviction, with the 47-year-old victim still unable to regain his sense of smell despite recovering from his injuries.
