SHAH ALAM, Sept. 11 -- Selangor has declared October 25 a special public holiday to commemorate the silver jubilee of Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah's reign.

State Secretary Datuk Dr Ahmad Fadzli Ahmad Tajuddin said the holiday would be replaced on October 26 as the anniversary falls on a Sunday, The Star reported.

"Since the date falls on a Sunday, the following day, October 26 (Monday) is designated as the replacement public holiday," he said during a press conference announcing details of the celebration.

He added that the holiday would be observed in the same way as the September 1 public holiday marking Selangor's overall victory at Sukma 2026.
