S$2 pass is on its way out - Malaysian taxis to pay S$15 every trip into Singapore from Jan 1
SINGAPORE, June 25 -- The S$2 (RM6) monthly pass for Malaysian taxis entering Singapore is on its way out.
From January 1, 2027, Malaysia-registered taxis will instead have to pay S$15 (RM50) every time they enter Singapore, under a revised fee structure announced by Singapore's Land Transport Authority (LTA) today.
According to LTA, the change is intended to narrow the operating cost gap between Malaysian taxis providing cross-border services and Singapore-registered taxis.
The authority currently issues Public Service Vehicle Licences (PSVLs) and Asean Public Service Vehicle Permits (PSVPs) to Malaysian taxis authorised to operate between the two countries.
