KUALA LUMPUR, May 12 -- A 65-year-old former police sergeant who allegedly fled a hit-and-run crash led authorities on a dramatic 50km cross-border chase before being arrested and testing positive for amphetamines.
The pursuit, which mobilised police units from both Negeri Sembilan and Melaka, eventually came to a halt when the suspect, who is retired, was intercepted along Jalan Bukit Beruang in Melaka.
Acting Rembau OCPD Deputy Superintendent Azmi Ali stated that the ordeal began earlier that night in Taman Sedia Raja, Chembong, where the suspect's car allegedly rammed into a van and a second car.
