KUALA LUMPUR, April 1 -- Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said that Petronas operations remain stable for the period between April and May, following a detailed report presented at yesterday's National Economic Action Council (NEAC) meeting, where several aspects of the company's operations were carefully reviewed.

He also said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has directed that the situation continue to be closely monitored.

"For the period between April and May, Petronas operations remain under control.

"At the same time, we are also informed that several vessels are still in transit and awaiting passage through the Strait of Hormuz," he said during the ministry's weekly press conference here today.
