KUALA LUMPUR, June 9 -- The Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan) has confirmed receiving a report regarding the sighting of a Malayan tiger near the Sungai Relai Bridge here yesterday, following the circulation of a video of the animal on social media.

According to a Bernama report, its director-general Datuk Abdul Kadir Abu Hashim said investigations carried out by the Gua Musang district office found that the tiger was believed to have merely crossed the area before returning to its natural habitat.

He said checks at the location did not find the animal, and no reports of disturbance involving residents in the area had been received so far.
