Kuala Lampur, Sept. 16 -- KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 16 - The National Registration Department (NRD) has unveiled the new-generation MyKad with a redesigned appearance and enhanced security features.

The new card incorporates several security elements on both its front and back, including a Dynamic Security Hologram and transparent window on the front.

The back of the card features an Enforcement QR Code and a dual-interface chip as part of the security upgrades.

The new MyKad will be available when applications open tomorrow, with Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail advising Malaysians not to rush to replace their existing cards to avoid congestion at NRD offices.
