KUALA LUMPUR, June 15 -- Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) and the Socialist Party of Malaysia (PSM) have agreed to form a political collaboration known as the Progressive Bloc ahead of the Johor and Negri Sembilan state elections, according to a joint media statement.

The statement said both parties had reached a consensus to work together throughout the election campaign period.

According to the joint press release by Muda and PSM, the Progressive Bloc will focus on presenting progressive policy proposals to voters in both states.

It said the proposed policies are forward-looking and centred on public welfare regardless of race, in line with the Federal Constitution.
