KUALA LUMPUR, July 5 -- Nearly 200,000 Malaysians who own diesel pickup trucks and 4WD vehicles have been approved for an additional 100 litres of subsidised diesel per month under the BUDI Madani Diesel programme, raising their monthly eligibility to 300 litres starting July.

The Ministry of Finance said in a statement that the approvals include more than 174,000 recipients in Peninsular Malaysia and over 22,000 in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan.

Deputy Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan said the additional allocation reflects the government's understanding of higher diesel usage among pickup and 4WD owners.
