CHENNAI, Aug. 11 -- A Malaysian national was detained by Indian authorities after allegedly carrying 4.033 kilogrammes of high-grade hydroponic cannabis through Chennai International Airport, India.

The arrest was made by officers from the Chennai Customs Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) after the suspect arrived from Bangkok on Friday night, based on passenger profiling, Sinar Harian reported.

According to the authorities, the suspect was believed to have attempted to leave through the Green Channel without making any declaration to customs.

An X-ray scan of the suspect's checked luggage detected suspicious images, prompting a detailed inspection.
