PETALING JAYA, Oct. 19 -- KTMB confirmed that a signalling cable theft was behind delays of more than 30 minutes on the Padang Jawa-Shah Alam-Batu Tiga stretch of the Komuter service this morning.

The operator said a signalling fault was detected at 6.20am, with passengers warned of delays while repair works were carried out.

Further inspection by KTMB's auxiliary police revealed about 60 metres of four core, 16mm signalling cable had been cut.

Repair and reconnection works are ongoing.

KTMB added that its auxiliary police will step up patrols and security monitoring to safeguard rail infrastructure and ensure smooth train operations.
