KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 -- A husband and wife were seriously injured after their car was hit by a vehicle believed to have been speeding while descending a slope at KM3.5 of the Kajang-SILK Highway in Kajang yesterday.

According to Harian Metro, the 9.10pm incident left the two local victims, aged 60 and 61, with serious injuries to the head and arms.

Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof said initial investigations found that the vehicle involved was travelling from Kampung Baru Balakong towards Kajang.

He said the car was believed to have been speeding while going downhill before losing control and crashing into another vehicle in the middle lane of the SILK Highway towards Kajang.
