Johor teacher accused of bruising seven-year-old pupil with thrown whiteboard eraser claims trial
BATU PAHAT, July 2 -- A primary school teacher has been charged with allegedly injuring a seven-year-old pupil after throwing a whiteboard eraser during a lesson, with the child said to have suffered a bruise beneath her right eye.
According to New Straits Times, 47-year-old Fakhriah Bustani pleaded not guilty when the charge was read before Magistrate Mustaqim Sukarno at the Batu Pahat Magistrate's Court today.
She was charged under Section 323 of the Penal Code with intentionally causing hurt to the pupil at a national school in Tongkang Pecah at about 9am on April 1.
If convicted, she faces up to one year's imprisonment, a fine of up to RM2,000, or both.
