KUALA LUMPUR, Aug. 27 -- Former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob arrived at the Sessions Court here this morning to face charges related to his asset declaration.

The 66-year-old Bera MP arrived in a wheelchair at about 8.30am before meeting several supporters who had gathered outside the court, Kosmo! Online reported.

The charges are expected to be read before Judge Suzana Hussin today.

His lawyer Datuk Amer Hamzah Arshad yesterday confirmed that Ismail Sabri would appear in court to face the charges.

The proceedings, originally scheduled for August 7, were postponed to today after Amer Hamzah sought a deferment as his client was receiving treatment at the National Heart Institute (IJN).
