KUALA LUMPUR, June 12 -- Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said a total of 1.88 million Malaysians have benefited from the MySalam health protection scheme since its introduction in 2019, with claims amounting to RM1.423 billion as of December 31, 2025.

He said eligible recipients comprise beneficiaries of the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) programme and their spouses aged up to 65.

"Beneficiaries are entitled to three forms of assistance.

"The first is a hospitalisation benefit of RM50 per day for up to 14 days annually, with a maximum annual payment of RM700," he said during the ministry's weekly press conference here today.
