Hong Kong opens first long-term economic and trade office in Kuala Lumpur
Kuala Lampur, Aug. 14 -- KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 14 - The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government has officially opened its long-term Economic and Trade Office (HKETO) in Kuala Lumpur to strengthen trade, investment and other ties with Malaysia and the region.
The office, which began operations in December 2025, is Hong Kong's 15th overseas Economic and Trade Office and fourth in Asean after Singapore, Jakarta and Bangkok.
Hong Kong Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Algernon Yau said the establishment of the office was made possible with the support of the Malaysian government.
