KLUANG, June 2 -- A four-member family was killed in a five-vehicle crash along Jalan Renggam-Kluang yesterday after two luxury cars were allegedly travelling at high speed and driving recklessly, police said.

According to the New Straits Times, Kluang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Bahrin Mohd Noh said initial investigations indicated that a BMW 530e driven by a 22-year-old man was heading from Kluang towards Simpang Renggam when the incident occurred.

He said the BMW was believed to have been travelling at high speed alongside a Mercedes-Benz A250 driven by a 19-year-old man, who has since been arrested and had his vehicle seized.

The BMW driver later died while being taken to hospital.
