Heat alert issued for 10 areas across Peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak
KUALA LUMPUR, June 8 -- Ten areas across Peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak are currently experiencing hot weather conditions, with temperatures reaching caution-level thresholds, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
In its latest hot weather status update issued at 6am today, MetMalaysia said six locations in Peninsular Malaysia and four in Sarawak were under Level 1 hot weather status.
The affected areas in Peninsular Malaysia are Machang and Kuala Krai in Kelantan, Kulim and Bandar Baharu in Kedah, as well as Larut and Matang and Kuala Kangsar in Perak.
In Sarawak, the districts of Marudi, Lawas, Sibu and Kapit were also placed under the same alert level.
