Former Tabung Haji chairman, CEO among five held over hibah, AMLA probes
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 9 -- Police have detained five people, including a former Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) chairman and former chief executive officer (CEO), to assist investigations into matters involving the pilgrimage fund.
Commercial Crime Investigation Department director Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said three of the suspects were detained over investigations into TH hibah payments made in 2017.
"The other two individuals were detained to assist investigations under Section 4(1) of the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 (AMLATFPUAA)," he said in a statement today.
