Former minister's remand extended two days in Tabung Haji RCI hotel-lease probe
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 6 -- The remand of a former minister detained over investigations into a Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) hotel-lease issue in Saudi Arabia has been extended for two more days.
According to Bernama, Magistrate Muhammad Bukhori Md Ruslan Zakariah issued the extension, which runs from tomorrow until Tuesday, after the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) applied for it at the Putrajaya Magistrate's Court this morning.
MACC Chief Commissioner Abd Halim Aman, when contacted, said the case is being investigated under Section 16(a)(A) of the MACC Act 2009.
The former minister was previously remanded for five days after being detained when he arrived to give a statement to MACC last Wednesday.
