First outcome in Kitchener Road fight: Man in Singapore who hit dying victim with chair gets 17 month's jail
SINGAPORE, Aug. 7 -- A 22-year-old man has been jailed 17 months for attacking a victim with a chair during a fatal brawl near Kitchener Road here in 2024, becoming the first accused to be dealt with in the case, The Straits Times reported.
Pradave Shashi Kumar pled guilty on August 4 to voluntarily causing hurt with a dangerous weapon over the attack on Dhinessh Vasie, 25, who later died from stab wounds sustained during the fight.
The brawl happened at about 4am on September 22, 2024, after Pradave and three others left a club at Golden Mile Tower and went to continue drinking at a pub in Sam Leong Road.
They encountered a group of eight men arguing with three women in a back alley, which led to an altercation.
