KUALA LUMPUR, Aug. 29 -- A fire destroyed about 60 per cent of a Pos Laju building in Bekenu, about 47km south-west of Miri in Sarawak, this morning, although no one was injured.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department's Operations Centre said in a statement today that it received an emergency call at 8.44am before five firefighters from the Batu Niah Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the scene.

The team, led by Senior Fire Officer II Azalan Azaman, arrived at about 9.30am and found the Pos Laju building, measuring about 15.2m by 12.2m, on fire.
