KUALA LUMPUR, April 1 -- Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said that decisions to prosecute individuals suspected of breaking the law, including cases involving drunk drivers, fall under the authority of the Attorney General, with investigations guided by existing legal frameworks and evidence.
He said the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) conduct inquiries not only under road transport laws but also on broader legal grounds when sufficient evidence exists to justify prosecution.
"The Cabinet did not specifically discuss this matter today, as prosecution proceedings were ongoing during the meeting. It may be reviewed next week.
"Since the case is active, we respect the process. For now, the actions are based on existing law concern...
