TAIPEI, Aug. 20 -- F4 star Vanness Wu has stepped in to defend his new wife Emi Aramaki after the Japanese singer found herself facing online claims that she had lied about both her age and educational background.

The 47-year-old Taiwanese-American singer, who announced his marriage to Aramaki in June, issued a formal clarification after questions began circulating over how old she is and whether she had attended University College London (UCL).

According to Taiwanese media Next Apple News, the controversy began after a reader claimed Aramaki had been described as a 35-year-old UCL graduate, but alleged that alumni were unable to find a record of her.
