KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 25 -- A man's escape from the scene after the MPV he was driving was involved in a crash on the southbound North-South Expressway near Kota Setar, Kedah, led police to uncover 72kg of cannabis flowers worth nearly RM6 million in the vehicle.

The incident occurred at about 6pm yesterday when the man abandoned the Toyota Wish after it overturned after hitting the rear of a Toyota Hilux four-wheel-drive vehicle, according to a Harian Metro report.

Police from Kedah then inspected the Toyota Wish and found four luggage bags inside.

A source said each bag contained 30 plastic packets believed to contain cannabis.
