KUALA LUMPUR, May 18 -- The Dewan Rakyat Speaker's Office has confirmed it has received the official resignation letters from Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli and Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, formally notifying Parliament of the vacancies for the two federal seats.

According to The Star, an official from the Speaker's Office confirmed receipt of the notices today in response to media queries. The confirmation follows an earlier joint statement by the two former lawmakers, in which they announced they had submitted their letters to Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul.
