KUALA LUMPUR, Aug. 29 -- Police investigating the deaths of a family of four at a Desa ParkCity condominium in Kepong have revealed that the couple had also become entangled in an illegal investment scheme, adding a new dimension to a case already linked to an alleged love scam and RM260,000 in losses and debt.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said relatives of the couple were aware of both issues.

"The family knew about the love scam problem and that they had become trapped in an illegal investment scheme.

"The allegations involving the love scam, the existence of a scammer, as well as the RM260,000 in losses and debts, are still under investigation," he said in a statement today.
