KUALA LUMPUR, Aug. 29 -- Two children found dead with their parents at a Desa ParkCity home were killed by stab wounds to the neck, post-mortem examinations have confirmed.

Berita Harian reported that Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said their mother, 47, meanwhile, died from sharp-force trauma to the neck and chest.

The findings provide the clearest account yet of how three members of the family died, as police continue investigating whether a suspected love scam and debts totalling RM260,000 were linked to the killings.

Fadil said the post-mortem on the couple's nine-year-old daughter was carried out at the National Institute of Forensic Medicine at Kuala Lumpur Hospital yesterday.
