Cyclist-related accidents in Singapore jump nearly 25pc in 2025
SINGAPORE, Aug. 23 -- Traffic accidents involving cyclists in Singapore reportedly rose by nearly 25 per cent last year, with 772 cases recorded in 2025 compared with 620 in 2024.
The Straits Times reported that police figures showed more than half of the accidents were linked to disorderly cycling or cyclists failing to keep a proper lookout.
Seventeen of the cyclist-related accidents in 2025 were fatal, up from 13 the previous year, while 15 fatal cases were recorded in 2023.
The figures cover cyclists using conventional bicycles as well as power-assisted bicycles, recumbent bicycles, trishaws and tricycles.
