Kuala Lampur, May 8 -- PASIR PUTEH, May 9 - A 12-year-old boy was killed after being crushed by a concrete block while playing in front of his home in Kampung Telaga Papan, Semerak, here yesterday, Harian Metro reported.

In the 2.30pm incident, Mohammad Yusof Nor Ismail was believed to have been playing in a sand excavation area near the concrete blocks together with his uncle, Mohd Yunus Nasir, who is also 12.

Pasir Puteh police chief Superintendent Saari Yaacob said a family member later alerted others after the two children were found to have fallen into a sand pit and were discovered trapped under a concrete block.
