KUALA LUMPUR, June 10 -- The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has launched Op Soga XI nationwide to intensify enforcement against illegal gambling activities, particularly sports betting and online gambling expected to rise in conjunction with the Fifa World Cup 2026.

In a statement issued by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today, Bukit Aman said the integrated operation will be carried out across all state contingents ahead of the tournament, which runs from June 11 to July 19, 2026.

CID director CP Datuk M. Kumar said Op Soga XI will be implemented aggressively and comprehensively to curb illegal gambling syndicates nationwide.
