KUALA LUMPUR, May 28 -- The body of a man believed to have drowned was found floating in Sungai Kerayong along Jalan Cheras here on Wednesday.

Malay daily Sinar Harian reported Cheras district police chief ACP Mohd Rosdi Daud as saying police received information on the discovery of the unidentified male body at about 5.13pm.

He said police, along with the Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) and medical personnel, rushed to the scene to carry out further checks.

"Initial investigations found that the victim was a male estimated to be below 30 years old.

"The victim is believed to have died due to drowning about two to three days ago," he said in a statement on Thursday.
