KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 17 -- Parti Bersama Malaysia has suspended Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad from all official party activities for three months, effective October 20.

The party said the decision followed his public admission regarding his involvement in an incident with the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) in Petaling Jaya on October 15.

In his earlier statement, Nik Nazmi confirmed he was the man caught with a woman, who is not his muhrim (a legally permissible close relative), in an enclosed space during the raid, and publicly apologised to his wife, family and party members.
