JAKARTA, Sept. 6 -- Malaysians stranded in Jakarta after volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau disrupted flights are now scrambling for alternative arrangements, with some travellers facing delays of several days before they can return home.

One traveller who goes by the moniker Spritzerphilips on Threads was a picture of fatigue and anxiety after being stranded at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport after her flight, scheduled for today, was cancelled.

"Stranded in Indonesia, can't get back to Malaysia, asked for help from the embassy here but they said they couldn't help either," she wrote.

About an hour later, Spritzerphilips said she managed to secure a new flight for Tuesday.
