PETALING JAYA, Aug. 17 -- A new chapter has begun in the storied Mahathir family, as Ally Mukhriz - daughter of Parti Pejuang Tanah Air president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir - has given birth to her first child, a baby boy named Eden Zakaria Ezran Cheah.

Born on Sunday morning at 8.48am, weighing 2.9kg, Eden is Ally and her husband Ezran Daud Cheah's first child and the fourth great-grandchild of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali.

Dr Mahathir's daughter Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir confirmed the family milestone in a Facebook post congratulating Mukhriz, his wife Tok Puan Norzieta Zakaria, Ally and Ezran.
