Alleged Kembara driver remanded after police arrest couple over viral Federal Highway crash
KUALA LUMPUR, July 2 -- Police have arrested a husband and wife over a viral crash on the Federal Highway last month, with the man believed to have been behind the wheel of a Perodua Kembara now remanded for four days as investigators move closer to wrapping up the case.
Petaling Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Shamsudin Mamat said the pair, both in their 50s, were arrested by the district police's Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division at about 9pm yesterday.
"A remand application for both suspects was made today. The magistrate granted a four-day remand order for the male suspect until July 5, while his wife was released on police bail after her statement was recorded," he said in a statement today.
