ALIGARH, July 12 -- ALIGARH : The Centre of Continuing and Adult Education and Extension (CCAEE), Aligarh Muslim University, observed World Population Day by organizing a lecture to raise awareness about global population challenges and sustainable development.
The lecture was delivered by Prof. Md. Tarique of the Department of Economics, who highlighted the significance of World Population Day, observed annually on July 11 to draw attention to issues arising from rapid population growth and its impact on society, the economy, and the environment. He noted that the global population has now exceeded eight billion, posing increasing challenges in the areas of healthcare, education, housing, employment, and natural resource management.
