India, Sept. 2 -- Distributes 50 bicycles to underprivileged girl students and 50 sewing machines to women from economically weaker sections

Sri Vijaya Puram: Bank of Baroda, India's International Bank, organised a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative in Sri Vijaya Puram (formerly Port Blair), to promote girl child education and support livelihood creation for women from economically weaker sections. As part of the initiative, the Bank distributed 50 bicycles to underprivileged girl students to facilitate their commute to school. It also provided 50 sewing machines to women from economically weaker sections to help them pursue income-generating opportunities and strengthen their financial independence.
