The paper examined Ernest Cline's Ready Player One through the lens of crime fiction, exploring issues of corporate control, surveillance, economic exploitation, and legal accountability in virtual environments. It also highlighted the challenges contemporary legal systems face in addressing emerging forms of crime in the metaverse.
