Aligarh, Sept. 2 -- Aligarh : The Department of Sanskrit, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), celebrated Sanskrit Day on August 31 to promote awareness and interest in Sanskrit among students and the wider community and to highlight the language's significance in India's knowledge tradition and cultural heritage.
Programme Coordinator and Chairperson, Prof. Sarika Varshney welcomed the guests and participants and highlighted Sanskrit's rich literary and cultural heritage, its role in preserving Indian culture, and its continued relevance in the contemporary context.
Prof. Himanshu Shekhar Acharya spoke on the global relevance of Sanskrit and the contemporary need to engage with its knowledge tradition.
