RJD shared scripted kidnapping video: BJP
PATNA, Nov. 5 -- The Bihar BJP on Wednesday accused the RJD of circulating a scripted video from West Bengal as a kidnapping incident in Bihar to malign the Samrat Choudhary government and create fear among people, according to a press release issued by the BJP on Wednesday.
BJP spokesperson Neeraj Kumar Sharma said in a statement that the video, shared on social media with claims of a woman being abducted in Bihar under the current government, was actually a staged stunt made for entertainment.
He alleged that RJD and Congress social media handles used it to attack the state government and portray a return of "jungle raj". Sharma said fact-checks by a TV news channel and Bihar Police's cybercrime unit established that the video originated from an Instagram account, 'isa007stunt', linked to West Bengal. There was no factual confirmation of the alleged kidnapping taking place in Bihar, he said.
He also cited the arrest of Manish Kumar Das, a resident of Sonbarsa Dhankharia for allegedly sharing the video on Facebook by presenting it as an incident from Bihar. The BJP spokesperson demanded a public apology from the RJD for allegedly misleading people and asked it to stop spreading misinformation on social media.
Senior state BJP leader Danish Eqbal too condemned the RJD's alleged bid to circulate the fake video. The RJD , however, denied having posted any such video. "There has been no such video posted from our official IDs of any social media platforms," said Adnan Asraf, a close aide of opposition leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav....
