Patna Schools to end early in wake of heat
PATNA, April 27 -- In view of the ongoing heatwave, academic activities up to Class 8 in all private and government schools in the state capital and other parts of the district would remain restricted to 11.30 am from Monday onwards till April 30, as per the order issued by district magistrate Patna Thiyagarajan SM on Sunday.
In his order, the DM has said that the order would be applicable to all private and government schools (including pre-schools and anganwadi centres) and all the school authorities have been directed to reschedule their timings of their academic activities in conformity with the order.
The DM's order coming into force from April 27 would remain effective till April 30 in the district.
Meanwhile, public drinking water facilities have been set up by the urban local bodies at 387 places and 15 shelter places too have been made functional so that people can drink water or take shelter in this sweltering heat. The district administration has also directed the PHED officials to make all tube wells functional in rural areas and also review the ground water level at places where the water level has gone down....
