NSD campus to be set up in Patna: Minister
PATNA, Sept. 3 -- Bihar's art and culture minister Pramod Kumar on Wednesday said that the National School of Drama's (NSD) campus will be established at Patna or its adjoining areas with the Centre's support.
Chief minister Samrat Choudhary had yesterday announced the setting up of the NSD's campus in the state. Choudhary had expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and union culture minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat for approving the NSD campus, foremost theatre training institute, for Bihar.
"Artists from Bihar have long been demanding for opening a campus of NSD in the state. Artists had met me when I took charge of the department and placed their demand for the same," the art and culture minister, said, while addressing a presser. "The department wrote a letter requesting the Centre to open NDS's campus in Bihar. We pursued the matter following which the Centre gave its nod in this regard. On behalf of the artists, I thank chief minister and Central leadership for giving their consent for opening the campus here," Kumar added....
