Notre Dame in Patna hosts Youth Parliament in civic awareness push
Patna, Oct. 1 -- To foster democratic values and civic awareness among students, Notre Dame Academy, Patna, successfully organized the Kishore Sabha-Youth Parliament on Wednesday under the aegis of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India.
The event was graced by Shalini Mishra, Member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly representing the Kesaria constituency in East Champaran district, as the chief guest. The ceremony also welcomed guests of honor, including Dr. Rajiv Ranjan Sinha, President of the Patliputra Sahodaya School Complex (PSSC); Brother Johnson V. George, Principal of Loyola High School, Patna; and Sister Mary Neha, Principal of Notre Dame Academy, Patna. The session was expertly judged by Adwitya Sinha, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science at Patna Women's College, and Renu Shankar, ex-faculty, Notre Dame Academy, Patna, alongside the gracious presence of other sisters and faculty members.
During the simulation, students demonstrated decision-making skills through structured discussions, enacting their roles as parliamentarians.
In her address, the chief guest urged students to cultivate their natural curiosity, ask insightful questions, and remain open to accommodating diverse perspectives. Coordinated by Pushpa Roy, Manisha Singh, Sweta Malhotra, Shipra Paul, Komal, and Richa, the event concluded with a vote of thanks and a commitment to nurturing informed citizens....
