Nomination papers of Tej Pratap's candidate Veena Manvi rejected
PATNA, July 15 -- The nomination papers of Veena Manvi, candidate of Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD) for Bankipur by-poll was rejected by the returning officer(RO) of the Bankipur by-poll, as per sources.
The JJD is headed by former minister Tej Pratap Yadav, the elder son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad.
Election officials said the nomination of Manvi was rejected as per the laws with certain shortcomings in her nomination papers.
On Monday, there was a bit of drama at the collectorate premises when Manvi was arrested soon after she filed her nomination papers before the deputy collector( land reforms), Patna Sadar, who is the returning officer for the by-election of Bankipur seat.
Later in the evening, Manvi had got bail.
The last date of nomination for the Bankipur by-poll was July 13 while today, scrutiny of nomination papers was done....
